Manager:
Lauren Burton

Hello, my name is Lauren Burton and I am the Nursery Coordinator at Kings Road.

I have 10 years of experience working in the childcare industry and have gained all of my professional experience in Wee Care. I joined the team in 2014 with no relevant childcare experience having worked in retail for many years. I started off my journey in North Road Toddlers and very quickly decided that this was the career for me. I completed my Level 3 diploma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development alongside all of my core training.

I transferred to Kings Road in 2018 to complete my Level 5 diploma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development (management). The Level 5 qualification provided me with an invaluable education into the best practice of the day-to-day running of a nursery and I acquired the skills to effectively lead, motivate and support my team.

I am a Designated Safeguarding Officer at Kings Road and I’m also fully trained in Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene, Health & Safety, Fire Awareness and Managing Concerns & Complaints. Always keen to continue my professional development, I hold Level 3 diplomas in ASD Conditions and Child Psychology. I have attended various childcare related training sessions and have always enjoyed having the opportunity to share ideas with other practitioners in my field.

As a Mum of three, I understand the challenges faced by working parents with young children and the necessity for high-quality childcare. I am committed to providing a loving, nurturing environment for our children where they can grow, develop and learn surrounded by highly trained, dedicated staff. I hope that we can remove any worry parents may feel and they can start their day knowing that their child is safe and happy.

My family and I spend a lot of time camping, hiking and exploring the great outdoors and some of my favourite activities are those that take place outside. Outdoor play provides a multitude of benefits to young children. It helps to build confidence and actively promotes physical development, motivation and creativity. We have a fantastic, award-winning outdoor space here at Kings Road filled with a variety of challenging equipment, toys and natural resources that allow the children to learn through play and manage their own risks.

It’s a wonderful thing to be able to come to work every day and enjoy it. We have a fantastic team here and the children bring us so much fun and laughter every day, I am excited to see what the future will bring.

Our Ethos

At Wee Care we believe that the first years of a child’s life are fundamentally important. These are the cornerstone years that shape a child’s future.
