My name is Laura. I began working in Wee Care in May 2012 after completing a BA (Hons) Degree in Early Childhood Studies at Stranmillis College. I count myself extremely lucky that I landed my dream job a year later when I became the Manager here at 119 North Road. There are not many jobs where you’re greeted each morning with the smiles and hugs, we receive! It’s a joy to watch our children grow and develop and even more of a joy when they come back years later with their siblings!

Along with my degree I also hold a Diploma in Childcare and Education and certificates in Behaviour Management, Paediatric First Aid, Fire Safety and Awareness, food hygiene, managing complaints and concerns and Child Protection. I am a Designated Safeguarding Officer (Child Protection) within the setting and have also completed a Level 5 course in Human Resource Management.

In January 2023 I became a mum myself, when I returned to work a year later, I enrolled my little one in North Road Infants so I now have a much better idea of the challenges faced by working parents and appreciate how moving to the Toddler house can feel like a big transition for parents too.
